RE: Looking for specs on '05 WW FS2300

One last question... What type of generator are you guys using with these trailers? I would like to try and use the space provided to put a generator in. Any recommendations for a place to order or buy through??? After you see the prices for the onboard gensets I think you just might use the area for storage and pick up a Portable unit. BIL has a Generac- No problems Friend HAD a generac Onans are nice but $$$

RE: Reiforced the Suburbans receiver today

Honestly- I'd find me a nutter Weldin' Shop;) 2007 & 2008 towing specs are the same on the sub.........little far off from what you listed.... I'd Find a "nutter" source for "yo" "infomaton" :) :h I used YOUR source and YOUR source clearly indicates different ratings between the years. and well the welding is still the same.

RE: Airing down and the crazy greenies

I converted an Air Tank to hold the Air I discharge out of the tires when "Airing Down"- then I just re-use it when it's time to hit the Asphalt.

RE: Reiforced the Suburbans receiver today

2500 is rated for 9300 4wd; 9600 2wd You got it crossed up there....1500 4wd is 7200 & 7500 for the 2wd Suburban Specs The link you provided is for a 2008 but I thought you had a 2007 since that is what is listed in your Photo. http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb122/EdConley/2500-2007.jpg

RE: Reiforced the Suburbans receiver today

Here is a positive for you and your labor, it looks just like what my friend did his his 1500 suburban about 2 months ago, and he tows a 26 foot toyhauler loaded with quads, not a problem at all, no cracks, stress marks in the paint or anything, nice job im sure you will be happy with it. Does that new suburban 2500 come with the 6 speed auto, or is it the 4 speed, thanks. mike Mike, It has the 6 speed. Thanks for your positive comment!!! Larry, it was not done to increase tow capacity, it was done to reinforce an underated poor gm design. I bought a truck capable of pulling 10000 lbs., put gave me a hitch integrated receiver rated at 1000 lbs. If i am going to safely tow to my "towing capacity" then i would need to be running a tongue weight in excess of 10000 lbs, as you should run 12-15% tongue weight. It was done to safely tow not increase capacity. Ya know yer Truck is only rated for 7500lbs Towing The HItch is rated for 10,000lbs but the 2500 6.0 3:73 4x is rated @ 7,500lbs.:)

RE: Where is my ground??

You'll have to trace the Green wire coming out of the Panel Box to where ever they attach it to the Frame.

RE: Looking for Inverter Wiring Diagram and Photos

Hi, By isolated, I mean that the bussbar for the white wires should not touch the ground metal in any way, and if you used an ohm meter, it would read the white bussbar to ground as open. :)

RE: 220 volt from 110 vac?

I see a lot of youngsters posting here In days of old when folks were bold and Thomas was still playing with motors (Edison in case anyone wonders) Houses were not all fed with 120/240 vac split phase as they are for the most part today Many houses had just 2 wires, originally DC, later 120 vac Some houses survive from that time and some of 'em still have only 120 volt service Actually.. I suspect that time outlived Mr. Edision. Plus, In addition to that.. In some cases a house may be 120/240 but the out-bulidings are 120 only.. Farm I grew up on was that for many years. When we upgraded to grade A milk and needed 240 volts for the water heater in the milk house we had to run all new wires from the house to the barn You have to walk to school through snow uphill, both ways?:B I don't under stand how an HOA would agree to pay the meter- do they limit the amount of power used? :)

RE: 220 volt from 110 vac?

The 220 VAC is to operate 2 HP woodworking equipment, and this particular case is for someone else who has no 220 volt service at all (dryer is even 110 - ugh), and cannot have it installed where needed due to HOA restrictions. I was investigating alternatives to determine how to obtain 220 volts. If the power is available, which it is and in this case is 110VAC, it is only a matter of (high loss) conversion to 220 VAC. And if I understand this chap correctly, money is not the limiting factor (must be nice). I look at the transformer specs and although adequate capcity is available, even considering a high loss in conversion and considering the motor and the power factor, I question if the lightweight units will perform as stated; they do have a year warranty though. There is not sufficient information in the specs to know if it is a center tap or double coils. But if that is the only option other than modifying a gas driven generator with an electric motor, it seems the way to go. I suspect the duty cycle will be quite low, so I will probably recommend that approach. Again thanks for the comments. OK- this is just wrong. The House is fed by 240v then SPLIT to get 2 120 legs.

RE: 220 volt from 110 vac?

I want to simplify getting 220 volt service in lieu of adding a special circuit. Well this certainly is not a simpler way:B Where do you want this 220v service?

RE: Dealer offering a lower interest rate

I imagine they are going to add the 2500.00 to the Financed amount so the 2500.00 will be quite a bit more after the duration of the loan. Call the dealer back and say: "I can give you my money or I can give any number of dealers out there right now my money- stop d**king around"

and almost stepped on a baby rattler that then chased me 30 or so feet...... So of corse I had to still tape up the windows. Swatting away bugs fending of the snake and his 3 buddies with my 40cal in one hand, flash light in my mouth (bugs could get in my moth thru the corners around my light) and tape in the other, Looking around for the now 4 rattle snakes, under the rig and under the quads. RE: Those poor Bluehairs

May I ask a stupid question? If you have those speakers mounted down there, how for do you keep the dirt out of them? When I went down a sandy trail this last weekend, my rear stabilizers were full of sand. Wouldn't this happen to the speakers? If so, does this make the sound grainy? Get it? Grainy? As in gritty? As in dirt? Never mind! This band will sound great then :B NittyGrittyDirtBand
